From here we can embark on a tour of our Project. You should allow 2-3 hours for your tour of Cerros Sands at La Playa de Cerros Maya. It is just over 11 miles from our office by land.

Getting to Belize

First off, we highly recommend that you do book your entire stay in Belize at one location. Belize has many sites to see and it is very easy to get from place to place. We would be very happy to put together a customized travel plan for you.

We recommend reservations be made prior to arriving in Belize for both your Belize air flights and hotel for the first few nights if you are coming in during high season (November to May).

Flights

For International flights the following carriers serve Belize:

American www.aa.com 800-433-7300 (7 Days a week). To check on your current flight, schedule and gate information call this 24 hour number, 1-800-223-5436. Direct flights originate from Miami, Florida and Dallas, Texas.

US Airways www.usairways.com 800-622-1015 for International Destinations. To check on your current flight 800-943-5436. Their hub is Charlotte, North Carolina.

Taca www.grupotaca.com 800-400-8222 Direct flights from Texas and San Salvador, El Salvador.

Delta www.delta.com 800-221-1212 Direct flights from Atlanta, Georgia.

Some folks visiting Belize have been flying into Cancun, as Cancun is serviced by many other carriers as well as having less expensive flights. From Cancun you can take an express bus to Chetumal, which is just north of the border of Belize. From Chetumal its a short cab ride to Belize, or you can stay at the terminal and catch the next bus to Belize.

If you rent a car and drive to Belize be sure to tell them you want to cross over the Mexican Border and drive around Belize, as additional papers are required. The highway is very good and being continually upgraded.

Maya Island Air of Belize has just instituted flights servicing Cancun, so you have another option if the flight is convenient for you.

There are no direct flights to Corozal, so you fly to San Pedro and connect with their next flight to Corozal.

From the Corozal airstrip there are taxis that arrive for each flight and will take you to your hotel. The hotels below are just a couple miles from the airport.

If you prefer to rent a car at the International Airport, the driving directions to Corozal are:

When exiting the Airport make a left and head North taking the Northern Highway through Orange Walk to Corozal Town, approximately 70 miles. Driving time is expected to be 1 1/2 hours. When you reach the village of Ranchito continue on the Northern Highway towards the water. Just before the water make a right at the sign for Tony's Inn and The Corozal Bay Inn.
